In 2021, the Hartford Business Journal is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its annual 40 Under Forty list. The list honors 40 of Connecticut’s top young business professionals, who come from a variety of industries and organizations.
To qualify for the list, nominees must be under 40 years of age, must live in Connecticut, and must work for a company operating or based in central Connecticut.
WORX President/Chief Creative Officer, Grant Copeland – a 2011 40 Under Forty honoree – was featured in the anniversary supplement. “To me, the 40 Under Forty award underscores how all of us can impact so much regardless of our age,” Copeland said. | ![]() |
When asked about his greatest professional achievement since making the list, Copeland replied, “I created a new United Way initiative called UPSTARTERS, which is aimed at giving every single young person aged 10 to 17 the opportunity to lead in the community. It’s for youth, by youth — meaning, the kids identify what their community needs, plan their own activities, and work together to raise whatever resources they’ve set as a goal. Over 1,000 youth across a ten-town region have participated already — yet we’ve only scratched the surface.”
