Thomaston Savings Bank, a local bank and WORX client partner, developed a new community initiative aimed at providing meals to those in need.
The “Community Kitchen Project” paired local restaurants who are customers of the Bank, with food and crisis intervention organizations. Thomaston Savings Bank kicked off the initiative by purchasing meals from several local restaurants. The restaurants then prepared and delivered those meals to the selected groups.
To date, almost 6,000 meals have been purchased.
“I’m so proud of our team,” says Stephen Lewis, CEO and President of Thomaston Savings Bank. “We’ve been able to help two groups and bring them together and really benefit our community. It’s fulfilling to be able to make that happen for everybody and do it right within our local community.”
For the first three weekends in December, Post University transformed the lobby of its Bank Street center into Santa’s playhouse – with several hundred local citizens taking in the holiday experience.
